SAHAN (Sustainable Aid for Humanitarian Action and Network) is a dynamic, independent, and non-profit organization committed to providing life-saving humanitarian aid, supporting sustainable development, and building community resilience across Somalia.
Since its founding in 2005, SAHAN has earned a reputation for delivering high-impact interventions in emergency contexts, promoting human rights, and supporting marginalized populations. Our work bridges immediate relief efforts with long-term recovery and development through innovative, community-driven approaches.
WHAT WE DO?
Humanitarian Response
Rapidly deliver life-saving emergency assistance, including food, shelter, health, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), and education services to disaster-affected populations
Livelihoods and Economic Empowerment
Strengthen communities through vocational training, micro-enterprise development, agricultural support, and improved access to financial services
Peacebuilding and Social Cohesion
Promote conflict resolution, reconciliation, and peaceful coexistence through inclusive dialogue and community engagement
Child Protection and Gender Equality

Key Achievements
- Successfully implemented emergency food distribution reaching over 20,000 households across Somalia.
- Trained more than 1,500 youth and women in vocational skills and small business management
- Established community peace committees in conflict-affected districts to support local conflict resolution
- Supported agricultural rehabilitation for drought-affected farmers, improving food security and livelihoods
- Delivered integrated health and nutrition services to over 10,000 vulnerable children and mothers
